I'll write this out in English because it seems at least one of the users involved (@Parminekhosravi) doesn't speak Croatian. The current text, my edit, reads approximately:
Halva is a Middle Eastern oriental dessert. Halva is, as a dessert, most popular in <Arab countries and in the Balkans>.
This keeps getting changed to: <"most popular in Iranian."> (sic).
Its name comes from the <Turkish word 'helva'>, which itself is derived from the <Arabic root 'halwa'>, meaning candy.
This keeps getting changed to <Perses word "halva"> (sic) and <Arabic verb halavi>.

The issues I have with the edits being made are as follows:

  1. The text does not adhere to proper Croatian spelling norms, isn't proper Croatian in general and doesn't romanize Arabic appropriately (this point is minor, but it was the primary reason for the first revert)
  2. The sources, which are in Croatian, clearly confirm every part of this except for where it is most widespread (but I assume the language barrier makes it difficult to discern whether it is talking about the origin or contemporary popularity)

Judging by the sources cited by the other user in terms of origin (a.k.a. its popularity), I believe this little clearing-up will completely solve the issue. On the word's origin, as this is the Croatian Wikipedia, information relevant to our region takes precedence; our language's primary conduit for Middle Eastern vocabulary is Turkish, as is cited to be the case here as well, which means that what is relevant for English (or any other language, for that matter) doesn't apply here. I hope this was helpful. — Hijérovīt(snakk) 13:03, 3. siječnja 2024. (CET)Odgovor
